Camp Kanesatake is a non-denominational ministry for Christ, to proclaim the Gospel and to edify the Christian. Our programs are designed to bring children and youth into a natural environment, away from the normal distractions of the world, so that they may draw close to the Lord Jesus Christ. The Mid-State Sunday School Training Camp was founded in 1923 on the property now known as Camp Kanesatake. It was used by the Pennsylvania State Sunday School Association as a training ground for Sunday School teachers from across the state. In the years leading up to its sale to Central Pennsylvania Christian Institute in 1989, Camp Kanesatake was used mainly as a rental property where outside churches and groups facilitated their own programming. Students interested in serving with Camp K this summer should contact Bethany Wygonik, Program Director, via email at
